Long time no see. First off, I must apologize for not being around on the server over the past couple months. The reason for my absence is that I’ve been dealing with some personal issues in my life, and I am currently still in the process of resolving these issues. However, in the meantime, I’d like to give you an update on what’s going on with the server.
First off, the next General Staff Meeting will be held on September 12th at 7pm UTC (Public portion starting at 8:30pm UTC, hopefully). Unfortunately, in addition to myself, most of the admods have not been available for a GSM throughout July and August. We realize that this means some players have been missed out for any City Rank promotions for Senator, Governor, or Premier during this time, so we will be trying a new solution for this problem.
Starting from today and for two weeks until August 31st, the admods will be asked to review all City Rank candidates on their own time, and then record their votes and opinions in an internal document. The results will then be tallied, and promotions (if any) will be issued on September 1st. Also, for one time only for all Senator candidates, we will be considering promotions directly from Mayor to Governor, if the city meets the requirements. If you have already submitted a City Rank Promotion Request Form for a Senator promotion and you did NOT specify a landmark in your application, then please e-mail the staff with your landmark if you would like to be considered for a possible Governor promotion. Otherwise, if you did specify a landmark, then you do not need to do anything.

If you are not currently on this list, please submit a City Rank Promotion Request Form by August 24th in order to considered for this batch. This list will be updated as new applications come in.
This new system of handling City Rank promotions was suggested at the last GSM as a way to speed up the private portion of the GSM, as well as to allow the staff to focus on more important topics such as rule changes. It also better ensures that all staff will have a say in a promotion, since we’ve had some issues getting sufficient quorum for the last few GSMs. The plan is to consider these candidates in batches for periods of 2-3 weeks starting from now. This does mean that starting at the September GSM, we will be focusing the discussion on broader topics regarding the server, and will no longer consider City Rank promotions at the GSM.
