Here are the results of the December 2022 GSM.

New Conductors and Moderator

3 Conductor candidates were considered at this GSM. The results are as follows:

Community Issues

ISMs abolished, most topics to be submitted through new Discord forum channel

ISMs and topics that were under meeting sections 6 to 10 are now no longer a thing. Players that wish to submit a proposal (Transport Project, Event, Inactive Asset Bypass/Transfer, MRT Line, or something else) should no longer email staff and should instead submit them to the new #proposals Discord forum channel.

In addition, 4k rail waivers, airport proposals (Governor-level or shared airports), and ferries carrying warp transit should be submitted through #proposals as well. Staff will only accept emailed proposals from members if the member is not in the Discord for any voluntary reason or due to the Discord TOS.

Proposals will be initially considered for a period of 7 days, where staff can ask the proposer questions or request more detail. Each staff member can then vote “For” or “Against”. Once 50% of all staff have voted in any fashion, and a majority of those voting have voted “For” or “Against”, an admin can then finalize the result of approval or rejection. If there is already a clear consensus, the admin can elect to approve/reject a topic earlier than the 7 day period. If there is disagreement amongst staff with no clear consensus, the admin can also elect to extend the topic so that there is more discussion time, or defer the topic for an in-person discussion at the next GSM.

GSMs will continue to occur on the 2nd Saturday/Sunday of every month, where Private Portion topics, Conductor Applications, Moderator Nominations, and Community Issues can still be submitted and discussed. If necessary, MRT Line allocations and other topics may occasionally be discussed in an “Other” section 6 at the end of GSM.

Other Discord Changes

A bunch of other minor changes are happening to our Discord:

  • A new #programming channel has been added, for discussion of any personal/school/work software projects or topics.
  • On a related note, links to several useful MRT tools made by members of our community have been added to the #information channel. These include the MRT City Map, MRT RapidRoute, the Staff Ping auxiliary discord, and a member status tracker.
  • The Hydra music bot has been removed due to lack of use. If you would like music in your Discord call, you can use the Spotify integration or the YouTube “Watch Together” feature in Discord.
  • All existing invites in the #auxiliary-discords channel have been obliterated, as there were many inactive servers in there. If you are the owner of an auxiliary discord, you may repost your invite link in this channel.

Map World Caretaker assigned

Since there has not been a caretaker for the Map World for some time, AP_Red has volunteered for the position. The caretaker’s responsibilities include taking submitted map items and curating them into the map library.

Transport Projects

A746 Renumber and Extension

A proposal by MIKE24DUDE to renumber the A746 to A76 and extend it from Birdhall to Fenton has been conditionally approved. The staff require clarification from Mike on whether he attempted contact with Robang592 (mayor of Birdhall) and zefunman (mayor of Fenton), both of which are present on the MRT Discord.

MRT Lines

Western Line South Allocations

After over two years of just sitting there construction, the Western Line South Extension is finally complete. The allocations are as follows:

  • WS13 – DDaniii_

Union Line Phase 2 and 3 Allocations

The Union Line Phases 2 and 3 have been completed up to Ellerton Fosby. The allocations for both phases are as follows:

  • U36 – probablynoah
  • U43 – Zuoj
  • U47 – PeaxhyEatxCxke64
  • U56 – ItsNotJasper
  • U61 – chimata

All other unclaimed stations on these lines are now available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Valley Line Extension

A proposal by FredTheTimeLord (sponsored by Missa_Solemnis) to extend the Valley Line further south to V62 has been approved.
