Here are the results of the September 2024 GSM:
Conductor Applications
Three conductor candidates were considered at this GSM:
- RainbowSlimee was promoted by a vote of 10-3-0.
- Inksby was promoted by a vote of 14-0-0.
- PtldKnight was promoted by a vote of 14-0-0.
Project Channels Revamp
The /p4 in-game text channel which has historically been used for in game political discussions will be formally renamed to politics, with the command /pol. The discord text channel formally linked to /p4 will be unlinked and archived.
A new in-game text channel will be created for serious discussions, with the command /srs. This will not be linked with any discord channels.
No immediate changes will be made to the current in-game projects channels /p1, /p2 or /p3, however following public consultation we will consider replacing some of these with dedicated topics such as for events, sports or memes.
Consolidating Media & Event Discord Channels
There will be a one month trial of enabling threads on both the Media and Event Announcement discord channels, with the respective discussion channels being archived. All announcements should be posted to the announcement channels as normal, with any discussion going into a thread created off this first message.
Decorative Air Facility Rules
Decorative Air facilities are subject to the same rules as functional air facilities (airfields & airports); so cannot be built outside of current Senator/Governor allocations. The rules page will be updated to make this clear.
Future Supporter Purchases
No changes are to be made immediately, however consideration is being given by Frumple whether to raise the price of Supporter rank to reflect inflation and increased server cost since the supporter rank was introduced in 2013 (the supporter cost has remained at $10 CAD since its inception). In addition consideration will be given to gifted supporter ranks.
Wiki Standards
Interested members will propose a formal wiki standard in a future GSM to ensure all pages consider accessibility and appropriate use of categorisation amongst other technical standards. A style guide has been created by McYoshi26, however this remains desirable for members to follow for their pages but will not be enforced.
Next GSM
The next GSM will be held on Saturday 12 October at 19:00 UTC. Moderator nominations and Conductor applications are due by 19:00 UTC on Saturday 5 October, and other community topics are due by 19:00 UTC on Thursday 10 October.
