Here are the results of the November 2023 GSM.
Conductor Applications
Four conductor candidates were considered at this GSM:
- arbirchy was promoted by a vote of 7-4-0.
- HarborRandom852 was promoted by a vote of 6-5-0.
- fork_07 was not promoted by a vote of 5-5-1.
- Saltedline was not promoted by a vote of 0-5-6.
Congratulations to arbirchy and HarborRandom852 on their promotion to Conductor.
Review of IRL business advertising
Following a recent confusion over rule enforcement, the staff discussed whether members should be able to advertise their own businesses on official MRT channels. We have decided to keep the status quo, and members may advertise their own businesses, for instance an online art store. A reminder that advertising of other minecraft servers that are unafilliated with the MRT may not be advertised.
Holiday Ranks
The 2023 Holiday Ranks were decided by random draw to be the 12 Days of Christmas, a repeat of the 2017 ranks used. Ranks during the month of December 2023 will be as follows:
- Guest – True Love
- Member – Drummer
- Citizen – Piper
- Trustee – Lord
- Councillor – Lady
- Mayor – Maid
- Senator – Swan
- Governor – Goose
- Premier – Gold Ring
- Conductor – Calling Bird

Minecraft 1.20.2 update
Frumple announced that the MRT server would be upgraded to 1.20.2 on Monday 13 Nov. All MRT services will be down briefly for maintenance at 5pm UTC for approximately an hour.
As part of this update, FancyHolograms will become available to Conductors and above. Members may request holograms from Conductors and Staff. There is a naming convention that should be followed for all player-owned holograms going forward:
<player name>-<hologram name>. For examples Frumple-taco or AP_Red-roadsign-A999.
MRT Discord opening to Guests
The MRT Discord is now open to guests and can be accessed here. When joining the server, guests will be required to link their minecraft and discord accounts. The instructions to do this are in the channel guests will see when they initially join.
Next GSM
The next GSM will be held on Sunday 10th December at 19:00UTC. Moderator nominations and Conductor applications are due by 19:00 UTC on Sunday 3rd November, and other community topics are due by 19:00 UTC on Friday 8th November.
